Jason Whitlock and Floyd Mayweather…

Just show that everything that is great about sports can be dragged down with one simple Tweet because of the ignorance of society as a whole.

I’ll admit that I do occasionally read Jason Whitlock’s column on Foxsports.com and because of that, I’m not unaware of the fact that he’s known for making comments that can be viewed as racial on almost any level. He does this all the time, it’s nothing new. But up until about 10 minutes ago, I was totally unaware (probably because I’m not on Twitter) of the fact that he made an extremely insensitive comment about Jeremy Lin’s anatomy a few days ago through the Twitter website that hasn’t run on ESPN, Foxsports, NBA Network or any of the other various TV stations and programs that I watch. I have my own opinion about that but let’s be honest with ourselves now, if say, a white sports analyst made these comments, say… Skip Bayless, would it have been all over television? Would he have been fired? Suspended? Or would it all have been pushed to the side like the case has been with Whitlock? Who knows. All I know is I question how guys like Whitlock and a host of so many others continue to get jobs. Is there really no one better? Making fun of someone’s anatomy and you’re like what? 50, Whitlock? Seriously. Grow the hell up.

Secondly, Floyd Mayweather is opening his mouth again? That’s no surprise. This guy has constantly mocked Manny Pacquiao the past few years for various things, including his race. That never seemed to gain much air though, it was almost never even really talked about. I wonder what would have happened to Pacquiao had the roles been reversed though. One can only guess.

As for Mayweather’s comments… well, they show how ignorant people are and how there’s still that stereotype of what you have to be and what you have to look like to succeed in sports, especially in the NBA, in which lets be honest, is the majority black. Is Lin’s popularity only because he’s Asian? Maybe a small percentage of it is, people like to be able to look down on the court or field or whatever and see athletes, especially star athletes that look like them. If people don’t want to act so politically correct all the time, we’d know why the majority of white fans used to pull for Larry Bird and the Celtics, while the majority of black fans pulled for Magic Johnson and the Lakers, it was obvious why.

I’d love to see a Guyanese or South Asian (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc) NBA player someday, especially one who could ball like Jeremy Lin or Lebron James or Kevin Love. Does that make me racist? I don’t think so. It’s something most fans of any sport in which your people hardly ever play would likely love to see. Especially when you’re such a diehard fan of the NBA like I am.

But to say this entire Lin saga is only driven by the fact that he’s East Asian is silly. The kid, to this point, can ball. People can talk about the teams he’s playing all they want to, but last time I checked wasn’t Deron Williams regarded as one of the best PGs in the game? Devon Harris is above average. John Wall was the top pick in the draft a few years ago. Kobe and Lakers aren’t what they used to be, but they’re still a hell of a defensive team. Ricky Rubio has shown that he’s going to be a pretty solid PG in this game. Guess what? Lin beat them all and outplayed every single one of those guys individually. One can make the argument that NBA players are the best pure athletes in the world. Lin hasn’t only shown that he can play with these guys, he’s tearing it up every minute he’s out there! Hell, I hope he keeps this up so I can know for sure I’m making a safe investment in buying his jersey (those things are expensive! haha) and the kid is just pure fun to watch.

I can go on and on but I’m running out of time, classes are about to start so I might say some more later. Case in point, guys like Jason Whitlock should grow up because making those type of jokes at your age is actually frightening. As for Floyd, maybe you need to stick to boxing and stop ducking Pacquiao and actually continue working to get that fight to happen before you both are past your prime. You’re becoming a bigger joke by the day. I used to actually be a fan of yours a few years back. You’re just embarrassing yourself now.

Rant over for now.

Interesting day;

I spoke to her for the first time in about a month today. I wasn’t even sure we’d ever speak again. I still don’t completely know how I feel about it. She was friendly, was willing to talk a little more than I originally thought she would.

I’m not sure if this is a good or bad thing though. It actually was getting a little easier every day that went by but at the same time, the way we ended, I wasn’t sure what to think about her anymore. It left me with so many emotions and many more questions than answers. But now that we’ve spoken again, maybe this is the time for closure. But if it is, I’m certainly not feeling like a big, grand Goodbye….

Ugh. Maybe this left me more confused than anything else.

A Gyro at 2am. This is awesome.

Anonymous asked: Do you like Indian and Pakistani girls?

Yes. Pakistani girls have the best complexion, seriously.

Anonymous asked: I really love reading the things you write about your ex and yourself, your feelings. Makes me realize not all males are heartless and there are some who truly care about who they're with and feel the love, pain, etc that we feel. Keep it up. :)

Thanks a lot. It’s really just my feelings, I don’t think it’s too special or anything lol. But much appreciated.
